Intro

Where did this all start? I’m taking a Sports Medicine class when two high energy people come in to make a presentation about an international program. They sound like they are from Australia. They talk about volunteering and seeing the world. At this point in my life, I have never left the country. Still am very curious what’s outside the US boarder. So I take them up on the offer and two weeks after graduation found myself on a plane to New Zealand. Little did I know at the time how much this would change my life. The plan before graduation was simple. I would get a 9 to 5 job working at a school. I had it all set up. I knew the school I wanted to work at. I already had an inside connection there for a job. My future seemed pretty set. I left the country thinking this would just be a three week thing then back to my “real” life. Turned into an obsession that would take over me. As soon as I got back, I had changed a little. Maybe it was a seeing the world outside my comfort zone . Maybe it was the experience of being exposed to a different way of life. Maybe it was the relationships I made on that trip or maybe it was a better understanding of who I am. What was for certain was something inside me grew. All I knew is that I wanted more. I write this now having been to 24 countries since then in 4 years. New Zealand was the first and the beginning of a life changing experience that is traveling and seeing the world. Over the next posts I will describe my trips and what I learned from them. Starting this year (2017), I’ll be going to Australia to begin the seven summits quest. The tallest peak on each continent. I will use this to document and show you the amazing world we live in. So join me on this ride and see where this journey takes us. You may be surprised what happens. The one thing I’ve learned is that nothing goes according to plan.

Thank you for your comment! I’ll definitely keep you posted! We’ll be going to Africa this year to do Mt. Kilimanjaro! Keep an eye out for that one. Also going to be some trekking in Iceland and write about past traks such as the Camino de Santiago in Spain and the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal (Himalayas). Thank you for the follow. I’ll try not to disappoint. 😁
